Activities
CIRPS is an engagement program of the University of New Hampshire,
providing assistance to communities that integrates issues of land use -
biodiversity, growth management, and conservation planning -
with considerations of the build environment -
integrative development and affordable housing - and social concerns -
economics, health, and well being.
The center provides assistance through:
- Offering forums for promoting dialogue and education;
- Stimulating new interdisciplinary research projects that address
community needs;
- Offering better access to important resources through an on-line
clearinghouse and other mechanisms;
- Providing outreach to communities in partnership with other assistance
providers
In our activities, we strive to meet the priority action suggestions of the
2003 Voices of Communities Experiencing
Rapid Change public symposium, which include providing access to
resources, educating decision-makers and the public, providing training and
leadership development, and offering opportunities for communication and
networking.
